Hello all! it has been a very busy week for us!!
We have had a TON of service to do this past week which was great! Tuesday we got to serve at a place called Hope Heals. It's a free clothing and linen store where people can donate clothes, then we sort and rack them. Anyone can come in and take whatever they want for free! It is the cutest little place! I'll try to get pictures of it next week. We have been meeting with Sister Makarenko for a while now reading the Book of Mormon with her almost every night and she told us Tuesday afternoon she felt such a peace that all her anxieties and worries were gone and she bore testimony that she knows it's from reading the Book of Mormon!! It's so incredible because she originally didn't really feel like she connected with the Book of Mormon but now she loves it!!
Wednesday we worked in the food pantry at House of Mercy. We got to work with a lady named Muriel and we talked a little bit about the gospel! She grew up watching the church ads and she loved them. It was so fun talking to her and sharing a little bit about the gospel. We also had a training for our calling as Facebook Group Specialists and we have a lot of work to do with it. We have to make sure all groups are approved for our zone and upload them into a mission wide google sheet doc. I really never thought that I would spend a good chunk of my time using google sheets/docs!
Thursday we went and served at a thing called Christmas Mercy. People buy and donate brand new clothes, shoes, books, toys, etc to give to those in need. We got to price them (for inventory, people didn't have to pay for them) and we were supposed to be able to help wrap but there were so many things we didn't even have time to get to it! But it was fun! We served with the zone leaders so we were able to get our mail. I asked my mom to send me my rope because I've been roping with a para cord and it's been a little difficult. But it came!!! I was so excited! We had district council a few hours after service so we decided to just head straight to the church. On the way we discovered that Sister Price had left her lunch sitting on the counter at home. We stopped at Wendy's to get her something to eat and with my brilliant mind I asked them for a 4x4 instead of the 4 for 4..... I have not yet lived that down. Anyways, we did get to the church and I was able to rope for a bit and teach my companions how to rope too!
Friday we had more service! We got to sort clothes this time and it was a lot of fun because I got to see two of my old companions, Sister Smith and Sister Jones. Sister Seaver leaves for home this Wednesday and so we did her "kill" picture. It took us 30 minutes to get the picture right!
Saturday we got an email from the assistants to the president telling us that we are going back into lock down. So far the only way that has affected us is that we can't have district activities. But President Duckworth still wants us to be able to get out (thank heavens!) so we are getting put into "activity groups" of 10. So that will be fun! Our mission has been very very careful with us so it doesn't really bother us that things are shutting back down again because we weren't really able to do much in the first place. It is also amazing because we have over 250 missionaries and in the 8-9 months that we have been in quarantine not one of us has gotten Covid. We are truly blessed for being obedient!
I have to go but I love you all!!
