Masks Lifted!!

Hello everyone!!

I'm skipping straight to the great news of this last week.  VA is loosening their restrictions and Saturday we got a text message telling us that those who are vaccinated don't have to wear their masks outside or in groups!!!!!!  Sister Eller and I may have jumped up and down screaming with excitement.  This is the first time we will have been able to go outside without masks for a loonngggg time!  I am soo excited about this small step towards going back out!!

I think I failed to mention in my last email that my new apartment is great except for the cockroaches.  We have discovered that bleach kills them and they hate the smell so our bathroom is pretty bleached up now.
Okay Tuesday we went and heart attacked our friend Sinceri's door, knocked and ran away.  She was so cute, she sent us a text message saying thank you and it made her day.  We were glad!!
We also got to have a lesson with our friend El Vee and he is pretty funny.  We are doing pass off lessons right now but the elders have a hard time teaching him because he constantly interrupts to ask us why we are so beautiful.  It makes us laugh but he is pretty nice!

Wednesday we got to go do service at a place called Rising Hope.  We bagged food and then took the bags upstairs.  It was really fun and everyone was so nice!!  I got to see Sister Nelson again!  She came out with me and goes home after this transfer.

We got to have district council and it's kind of fun because we are the only sisters so the elders aren't shy around us which is nice!

We got told on Tuesday that there was a gas shortage happening so after district council on Wednesday we went to go get gas. Holy cow it was hard to find! We tried 6 different places before we found a place that still had gas and the line was really really long.  Because of the shortage our cars got grounded so we had to cancel all of our service projects and in person lessons that were farther than 20 minutes walking distance.  All of our lessons and service are over 30 minutes away so our schedule emptied pretty fast.

So Virginia has a thing called cicadas. Apparently they come out every 17 years and this is the year that they come out.  Let me tell you right now that they are hideously terrifying.  I don't usually mind bugs but I will happily take the cockroaches over these things.  They are pretty nasty and we have been finding their shells all over the place. We don't mind being cooped up so much now.
Let's see, we did a lot of contacting and set up some more lessons this week too. We got another street contact! We were pretty excited over that.

Saturday our cars were completely ungrounded! We also got to meet our friend Zamal who wants to be baptized!  He is shooting for June 5th! He is really nervous so we are hoping he will overcome his doubts and be baptized!  We met with a few other friends and that was fun!

Saturday was also my 16th month mark from the MTC so we made cookies and I am proud to report that I still remember how long to microwave the butter without ruining it!  For those of you that knew me before mission life, you'll remember I had quite a few accidents in the kitchen so I'm glad that I have at least improved in that area!
Sunday was great! I love my new ward and it's even better because they love the sisters more than they love the elders and the elders are the assistants to the president so the ward doesn't even know what they have!

Love you all!!!!!!
