Good morning everyone!
In reference to the subject line, I will explain what happened. First you must understand that it is, or at least was, February. One should not be expected to wear sunscreen when it's February! We got to do another food drive outside and it was a really nice sunny day! However, my face got burned in shape of my mask and I am reeaalllyyy hoping it doesn't tan that way. That would just be embarrassing. But on the bright side, I have been able to use my untimely sunburn as a way to break the ice in lessons!
We got to serve at Habitat again AND I got to serve with Sister Panuska!!! For those who don't know Sister Panuska, she came out a transfer after I did and our companionships got to work together a lot and I absolutely love her to death!
Glenn is doing amazing! We watched the Restoration movie with him and some of his fellowshippers last night and he loved it! We got to have a great discussion about the movie and what stood out to everyone.
So we actually got to go to Arlington this week! But Sister McCleve just got to the area and her paperwork hadn't been sent in yet so we never got past the gate... Oh well! It's supposed to be sunny this week so we are crossing our fingers we can go!
We just had transfers and our district leader went home so Elder Hutchings is our new district leader! I'm excited because he is one of the only people I know in this district. And he is a blast!
We had a lesson with Garrett on Wednesday and the building fire alarm went off and he looked at us and asked us what he should do. We told him to get out of the building! It took him a few seconds to process then he said "Oh I should probably get out of the building!" We were like yes! The alarm shut off after about 5 minutes so we were able to finish our lesson with him. Holy cow, this week has been the week of deep questions. He asked about the origin of God the Father, do we worship Jesus Christ, why do we use the words "being" or "personage" when we talk about the Godhead, and more. We were running out of time because we had another lesson so we told him we would send him some resources he could read from to get his answers.
Our next lesson was Sister Turner (she is a really nice, semi active YSA) and she wanted to know about the church's standpoint on LGBTQ issues and race. We were like "you have got to be kidding us." So we also sent her a lot of resources and explained our views. Twice in a night with deep questions is not super fun but we did it!
We had another lesson with Garrett yesterday and we had the bishop join and a recent convert. It was an amazing, spirit-filled lesson! Garrett had lots of questions for the bishop about his role in the church and a TON of questions for Alyssa and her conversion. It was incredible!
That's all for now, I did better at taking pictures so enjoy!
