ET's, Baptisms, New Apartments, What's Next?

Hello everyone!!  This week has been literally crazy! My companion is telling me to skip straight to her favorite part of the week which would have been Saturday.  You better thank her because I wasn't going to tell all the deeds that were done on Saturday. So sit back and enjoy!

Okay, Saturday was Glenn's baptism!! We got to the church early to fill up the font, set up chairs, etc. Well we had remembered everything except to schedule with the building coordinator.  As a result, we had a man come in and tell us that there was a child baptism happening at 2pm.  We panicked a little bit because Glenn's baptism was at 3pm and we felt soooo bad! But they were fine with it and we ended up helping them set up for their baptism.  While they were having their baptism we went and got lunch then came back just as they were finishing up.  We got Glenn and Bishop McKeon into their baptismal suits, got everyone seated then proceeded with the baptism!  It was so awesome!!! The ward mission leader printed out these really cute programs, and Glenn was so excited!! We felt bad because the water was SO COLD!  He was shaking as he went into the font. Here is where Sister Livingston's favorite part comes in. I don't know who designed the font but whoever the heck thought it was a good idea to put a drain in that you have to pull up and twist in order to let the water out is dumb. We didn't want Bishop McKeon to pull the drain after Glenn got baptized because in the past it has been horribly loud so we got a cord and had him tie it around the drain and tape it to the side of the font after Glenn was done being baptized. You're probably thinking something along the lines of "Sisters, why did you do that?? It won't work!"  You'd be right. It did NOT work.  After the baptism and confirmation we were getting ready to clean up and drain the font.  Well the cord didn't stay taped, it was at the bottom of the font so Bishop McKeon grabbed a broom and started to drag the cord up the side of the font. I leaned over the glass to grab the cord but it took 3 tries for me to grab it and Sister Livingston holding onto me because I didn't want to go headfirst into the font.  I got the cord and passed it to bishop and he tried to jiggle it so that it would turn the drain.  Well that was his undoing because he leaned over and we heard a splash. We looked down and saw his phone sinking to the bottom of the font.  I will tell you this next part but in no way can you judge me!!
I freaked out when I saw his phone sinking and ran to the doors that enter the font.  I threw my phone and Sister Livingstons phone on the towels by the side of the door and ran down the steps into the water. Let me tell you, that water was FREEZING.  It took me two tries to get his phone because I wasn't expecting it to be that cold the first time I tried to get it.  Then we figured since I was already wet, I might as well pull the drain.  That took me three tries because once again, the water was freezing! You're probably wondering how high the water was, it wasn't quite to my waist, but when I reached down for the phone and the drain, my hair and mask got wet.  I ended up taking off my mask because I couldn't breathe with it wet. Everyone was laughing and taking pictures and videos of me in the font, I felt a little bit like an animal in the zoo but hey it turned out alright.  I had to change into a baptismal suit because I was soaked so that's what I wore home!  We conveniently ran into 4 people on the way up to our apartment and it was a little embarrassing.  So that is my story for the week and Sister Livingston has told and retold it about 4 times by now so I hope you all enjoyed it!
But Glenn's Baptism was incredible and he is so excited to start institute this week!

The rest of the week was pretty uneventful compared to that fiasco.  We did have emergency transfers on Friday, Sister Lungren got transferred because another sister was leaving.  That was really sad and not helpful right before our baptism!  But she was able to come and watch so it was all good but I am definitely going to miss her!!
We helped some other sisters move apartments yesterday because some elders were too loud and the neighbor requested sisters.  We spent about 3-4 hours helping them move and then today we helped them with transfers too so we've been on the go since Friday!
